Here is My Story.

A woman in a white tank top holding a basket of freshly harvested carrots and radishes, with parsley on the side, outdoors against a wooden fence.

In my early 20’s, I developed symptoms I had never experienced before, including digestive issues, bloating, IBS, hormonal imbalances, acne, muscle fatigue, unexplained weight gain, rashes, food sensitivities, mood swings, water retention, joint pain, brain fog, anxiety, and poor sleep, among others. I felt like my body had been taken over, and I had no control over what was happening to me.

I had gained 30 lbs over a few short months, with no change in diet or exercise, and nothing I did could help me lose the weight, and I mean nothing. Not cutting out inflammatory foods, not eliminating alcohol, no amount of exercise would make me shed even 1 lb. I was plant-based, gluten free & dairy free. I tried everything from acupuncture, to lymphatic drainage, to extreme full day juice cleanses. During this time, I ran two half marathons in a year, training every day for months at a time, and did not lose a single pound.

I saw countless specialists including: my PCP, multiple gastroenterologists, an endocrinologist, an allergist, multiple gynecologists, a dermatologist, and an infectious disease specialist. I was repeatedly told by these doctors that these symptoms were “in my head”, leaving me feeling helpless. Over a few years, I was diagnosed with Hashimotos, PCOS, Hypothyroidism, SIBO, Leaky Gut, Insulin Resistance, Adrenal Fatigue, had parasites, and was told I was pre-diabetic. The only solution given to me at 24 years old? To take Metformin, diet pills & Ozempic, leaving me with no explanation as to what was causing these symptoms.

After years of struggling and receiving no answers, I knew there had to be another way.

I decided to listen to my gut and seek a different approach to find the cause of my symptoms. I began taking a more holistic approach, and saw naturopaths and functional medicine practitioners, who helped me to identify the root causes of my issues. I eliminated inflammatory foods like gluten + dairy, and incorporated supplements, which helped my symptoms a bit, but barely moved the needle. I had an inner knowing that it had to be something deeper.

This is when I began to dig into my mental + emotional wellness. In 2019, I started meditating and going to therapy - two things never thought I would do. This is when my journey to emotional wellbeing began. And THIS is where the real work needed to be done. The deeper I looked into the emotional imbalances in my life, the more my symptoms began to go away. It took me many years to realize that all of my symptoms and diagnoses were caused by major stress in the body, and in the mind. Focusing on healing my nervous system was the key. My body was overburdened with stress, which created so much inflammation in my body and led to the symptoms I was experiencing.

I came to realize that nutrition and lifestyle changes are only part of the healing journey – the other part is focusing on mental wellness.

I started to see the real magic when I started to focus on a nutrient-rich diet, intentional movement and nervous system regulation. When I focused less on what NOT to eat, and began flooding my body with daily nourishing + healing foods, another level of healing was unlocked. When I started to focus on low impact workouts, and started journaling, meditating and working with an energy healer, everything started to click. These major dietary and lifestyle changes began to slowly restore my health and helped me to regain my life back.

This 8+ year journey to reclaim my health completely changed my life and inspired me to help others who cannot find the answers to their health struggles. I now devote my life to clean eating, nutrition, nervous system regulation, living a clean non-toxic, healthy lifestyle, and helping others to understand the importance of these practices.

While completing my yoga teacher training, I was able to experience the power of meditation and functional movement. I learned to use these practices as tools to help deal with stress, witnessing their ability to improve both mental and physical health, together with nutrition.

In combination with my nutrition knowledge, I use my culinary skills to create recipes that help clients heal through the power of food. I cook intuitively and learn by doing. I was always curious about the science and nutritional facts behind the food I was eating, and this interest led me to pursue my Nutrition degree.

I now combine my love of food and cooking, as well as living a healthy lifestyle, to help clients eat and live better.
